Little Fox

~Welcoming Winters ~

Winter has almost set in  many northern parts of the
country .While cold winds from the mountains have lowered
the temperatures drastically, bright afternoon sun, hot cocoa
and loads of blooming flowers have beautifully spread their
warmth to welcome the season. Winters in India are much
different to their western  counterparts. Winters here
are synonymous to afternoon family excursions-a sunny
weekend  in park , picnic with kids or just lazying in sun .
Our winter excursion list has been made by my daughter
this time and as expected - visit to the zoo topped the list.
Besides regular animals  we were lucky to spot a tiny baby
fox this time, the cute creature mesmerized my daughter so
much that back home I decided to create one on her plate .

Baby Fox on my plate !!

Whole wheat bread topped with peanut butter, strawberry
black grape, orange  and kiwi.

The cold wave from the mountains has brought loads of
persimmons, strawberries and grapes . The large box of
strawberries and black grapes that we had picked up for a hearty
fruit salad became the ear and features of our peanut butter fox.

My family is crazy over strawberries ,besides adding the
antioxidant powerhouses  to our smoothies, shakes and parfaits,
I love sprinkling some finely chopped chunks to my daily bowl
of oatmeal too. Before finally bidding adieu to these divine booties
by end of march, I never forget to freeze a bagful for the rest of
the year.

Cheer a Child
( campaign for the underprivileged by Real Greetings)
It's very necessary to teach our little ones to count our blessings
and thank Almighty for it and share the joy of festivities with
the underprivileged. Recently India's preferred packaged fruit
juice brand Real hosted a family day for  Prayas kids NGO
This mega initiative by  Real Greetings -  "Cheer a Child"was a
wonderful way to put some smiles on the tiny faces. Real Juice
India handed over token quantity of real juices against  all the
wishes received by the campaign on different social platforms.

Shark on my plate

~ Shark On my Plate ~

The monsoons have just stepped in the northern part of India.
Cool winds accompanied with wonderful gush of shower are
perfect to rejuvenate the mind and body from the scorching and
soaring temperatures of summer.....The first showers of blissful sunday
afternoon surely needed some creative  monsoon snacking and nothing
could have been better than involving lil one in making and relishing
an edible version of her story book - 'The Great Shark Escape'........

Brown bread, carrots, cheese, radish, onion green, pea, olive

Mom's Speak with Real Fruit Power
(an excerpt from the  writeup )

I always believe that  the most crucial step in making kids understand
healthy food choices and  habits is to involve them in tiny fun food
activities. Taking  their help in picking up fresh fruits , veggies and grocery
from the store to planning and preparing healthy versions of their
favorite junks are a few  smart moves to encourage healthy eating.
The Old chinese proverb "Tell me and I forget, show me and I will remember ,
involve me and I will understand " beautifully enlightens this theory .

Pup on my plate

~ My Little Pup ~

Few days back my lil one had to write a few lines
on her pet. Since we don't have a pet at home, I
took her to a friends place so that she could spend
some time with her friends & their cute little pet
puppy & get a brief idea about the topic. Back home
while she wrote some lovely lines on it , I decided
to treat her on a visual representation of the same.

- from Star Dad by Karl Fuchs

Today is Fathers Day , a day set aside to honor the
great man , and the pillar of the family , our Father .......
While half the world is busy celebrating the occasion
and the other half of the globe is still getting geared
up with the preparations -it still isn't too late to share
all the fun we had , making the dad at our home feel

to give him a good laugh & a lovely treat !!!

Moustachwich

Whole wheat bread , cheese, olive , cucumber & carrot
(Cut out a mustache on a piece of paper to serve as ur
stencil guide , place the cutout on the cheese slice & cut
out the shape using a toothpick( believe me its easier to

a few lines on the cheesy mustache for the hairy look . )

not an issue at all , these cuties just need 10-15 mins & jus 3
basic ingredients to pep up ......

Ingredients - Your favorite cookies, some tempered chocolate , a few
M&Ms or gems candy is all that you need ..

Sketch a few mustaches on a piece of paper , keep an acetate sheet on top .
Fill a piping bag with some tempered chocolate & pipe the chocolate all over
the drawing. Pipe a few circles for the nose too . Make tiny dots on the candies
for the eyeballs . Refrigerate everything for a couple of mins . Once
set , peel your chocolate art & stick on the cookies with
some melted chocolate.

Festival time

~ The Bond of Love ~

India is a land of festivals .Virtually celebrating each
day of the year ,there are more festivals here than
anywhere in the world .To celebrate the beautiful
bond of love n purity between brother and sister ,
we celebrate Raksha Bandhan .Raksha means
to protect and bandhan means a bond. The festival
is marked by tying of a holy thread adorned with
decorations by the sister on wrist of his beloved brother .
This thread called Rakhi is the symbolic representation
of the unspoken promise to protect the sister from
all evils .........The day will be full of treats & sweets
so a simple festive themed breakfast is a must to
Keep the lil one rocking

Food of Love

Flower shaped Jam sandwich with sprinkles &
shoestring licorice/jelly sticks ribbons.
